Hot Dip Galvanizing (HDG) is a process applied to carbon steel that basically prevents it from rusting. A protective coating of zinc is applied to the steel at the point that it is dipped into a molten bath of the zinc fluid that has been heated to around 450 degrees.
HDG has long been seen as the most environmentally-friendly finishing process available to
prevent corrosion. This is due to the metal’s non-ferrous properties, which makes it indefinitely
recyclable without loss of physical or chemical properties.
Galvanized products, once installed, can also be removed, re-galvanized and re-used, as well as being easily recycled with steel scrap.
Galvanizing offers:
• Durability - a permanently bonded tough coating
• Hygienic - easy to clean surface
• Long Life - up to 50 years+ maintenance free
